1) Shaping Gilching Together: Our path to a green future
Together, we are making Gilching stronger — ecologically, socially and economically. We are protecting what sustains us: clean water, fresh air and a vibrant town centre.
We are planning ahead with more green spaces instead of concrete, places for people to meet, and shorter distances for everyday life — for all generations. We are generating energy locally through the use of photovoltaic systems on roofs, carefully tested open-space systems and agri-PV systems, as well as providing an affordable, renewable heat supply.
We invest wisely in schools, childcare centres, societies and digitalisation to ensure that opportunities are distributed fairly. We also maintain added value in the community by supporting robust municipal utilities, regional craft businesses and authentic citizen participation. Let’s work together to achieve this!
2) Gilching for everyone: a family-friendly, inclusive community
Families, in all their forms, are at the heart of our community. We provide affordable intergenerational housing, reliable needs-based childcare services, safe routes and ample space for play, learning and growth.
For us, inclusivity is not an added extra, but a way of life. This includes providing a barrier-free environment and understandable information & services for people with & without disabilities.
Alongside the senior citizens‘ and youth councils, we are committed to setting up a family council to give children, young people & parents a strong voice and actively involve families in decision-making processes.
Meeting places such as the lively community centre, ‚Gilchinger Insel‘, and modern playgrounds & sports areas promote togetherness rather than mere coexistence.

3) Gilching climate neutral: working together for a liveable future
Climate protection is a public service. We are bringing the energy transition home by installing more photovoltaic panels on roofs to provide tenants with electricity, setting up balcony modules, and expanding the district heating network to incorporate renewable heat & geothermal energy.
To become more heat-resistant, our town is taking steps towards becoming a sponge city by unsealing surfaces, using light colours, planting trees and installing green roofs. We are protecting against heavy rain with smart rainwater management systems.
Every construction project must be built efficiently, be well insulated, be planned to be recyclable and involve citizens.
By doing so, we are achieving climate neutrality step by step, all the while maintaining health, safety, and quality of life for ourselves & future generations.
4) Fair sharing of traffic space: mobility for all
We share public spaces fairly. This includes safe routes to school, pedestrian and cycle paths, and reliable public transport, such as local buses. Where cars are necessary, we implement intelligent traffic management and appropriate speed limits.
We are committed to separating pedestrian & bicycle traffic from other traffic, providing attractive car-sharing options, managing stationary traffic effectively, and planning the Glatze as a traffic-calmed neighbourhood offering a high quality of life.
We want to rethink Gilching, using the results of the mobility concept developed for the municipality to do so.
Our goal is for Gilching to be a place where everyone can get around with less noise, greater safety, and cleaner air.
5) A vibrant democracy: Working together for a fair and open society
Democracy thrives on participation. We promote transparency, engage with citizens from the outset and value diverse viewpoints. Participation platforms and open consultation hours ensure that decisions are transparent.
We support volunteering, societies, and initiatives — this is where trust grows. Diversity is our strength.
We take a clear stand against hatred and promote a culture of mutual respect, where criticism is welcome and finding solutions is what matters.
Gilching will remain open, fair and united in this way — a community where every voice counts and the future is created together.
